Can RedShelf read to you? ›

Many users find our Text-To-Speech (TTS) quite helpful as another way to ingest reading material. To access this feature, click the ear button in the bottom right and it will launch your Text-To-Speech controls.

This can be found in our Additional Options menu. Once you click the “Print Pages to a PDF” button, it will take you to a secondary modal that will allow you to choose which pages you would like to print to a PDF.

If your eBook has an offline access allowance (as set by the publisher), that means you can save a portion of your book in the cache of your browser for easy access when you're without Internet connectivity. Please note: You must have an Internet connection while activating Offline mode.

Under the main menu, select "Text To Speech", you'll see an option for voice. Generally, "Samantha", "Alex" or "Victoria" are going to be the best voices, but if you're using that and it doesn't work, you can try other voices to see if they work better.

Navigate to the upper right-hand portion of your screen and select Additional Options (3 horizontal bars) and select Print Pages to a PDF to begin. The pop-up window below will appear. Choose the page range for your print job under the drop-down menus and select Add. The page range will display in the Print Queue.

Can you use RedShelf on an iPad? ›

RedShelf app can be installed from the Apple Store for iOS devices or the Google Play Store for Android devices.

Select the three dots to the right of the title. Select “Delete Download” to remove the download from your app.

Open the Additional Options Menu in the upper right-hand corner and select “Download for Offline”. Select the download icon for the content you want to access offline. The content will begin downloading. You will receive a confirmation message the first time you download content.

You have a trial period of free access before the add/drop deadline. After the deadline, your school will charge you for access to the materials unless you opt-out. If you don't want the materials through this program and opt-out, you will need to get the content elsewhere.

Hear text in ebooks read out loud with Read Aloud, VoiceOver, or text-to-speech. Read Aloud is available in the Play Books mobile app. To hear books read aloud in the Play Books app on your device, turn on VoiceOver. When VoiceOver is on, the Play Books app automatically reads aloud the text in your ebooks.

Note: Most Kindle content and personal documents are eligible for Text-to-Speech. If Text-to-Speech capability is available for your book, you'll see Text-to-Speech: Enabled on the product detail page before you purchase your book.
